The Semogue 1305 is easily one of the most recognisable and talked about boar brushes on the market. This brush, once broken in (20-25 lathers), is a lather making machine. Its tips become so soft that they feel very much like a badger brush.
Popular for very good reason.
The Semogue 1305 is a must have!

This is a superb brush- a favourite boar brush of mine. The bristles are initially quite rigid and upright, but over the period of a month of solid use it softens and spreads. So now it looks like a much larger brush that has tremendously soft tips. It still has good backbone - good enough for my face shaving. But it's versatile enough to make for a good bowl lathering brush as well. The enamel paint is thick (but even that will chip if you drop it) and very water resistant. I'd prefer undyed bristles (but then you can simply order it's blonde equivalent!). The handle is a good size and a reasonable weight. Definitely not as solid as a resin handle, but a good enough weight. And it's really quite superb for the price. It's a favourite little pig of mine. ;)
