Head: Open Comb
Easy to use made-in-India brand that ticked all the boxes - I really enjoy this 3-piece. The only problem is that, as with another review, the blade doesn't align evenly (not perfectly parallel), which was somewhat disappointing if you want a perfect product. Also seemed to have more blade exposure on one side than the other, so one side would be theoretically more aggressive. However, if you overlook these noticeable flaws, it seems to shave fine and doesn't become a problem, which was a pleasant surprise. Glad The Stray Whisker has sourced this product for a local purchase - this particular model is hard to find elsewhere. And, speedy delivery from The Stray Whisker.
The first thing that I noticed was how heavy this razor felt; which is a good thing. Most of the weight is in the handle and it helps to keep your hand steady. Overall, this razor feels like a quality product; the handle screws in nicely to the head and the knurling looks and feels great. Being an open comb, it is quite aggressive. I paired it up with a Feather blade and it just mowed down the hair like it was nothing. I used a steeper angle with this razor (compared to my Muhle r89) and it just felt more comfortable. My only problem was how the blade wasn't symmetrical in it's alignment. On one side, the there was a much bigger blade gap compared to the other. You'll have to take note of which side you are using and shave accordingly because the difference is quite significant. However, this razor is relatively cheap and of course the fit cannot be expected to be at the same level as other more expensive razors. Still, it's a great, aggressive razor that does what is it meant to do!
