Colonia Balsamica is based on a traditional Italian Colonia scent with some twists inspired by Saint Louis’ Italian neighbourhood, The Hill. Colonia Balsamica takes the traditional Italian cologne scent and adds powdery floral, zesty herbal and soft green notes as an homage to the neighbourhood that remains a snapshot of a long-past time.

This is a very easy soap to load onto the brush and the lather that it produces from this load is exceptional. It is not quite a good as the B &M soaps but very close, the scent profile is exactly as described and is just wonderful. It is not overpowering and is 5 out of 10 out of the container, then once the lather is applied to the skin it is a 6.5 out of 10. The soap produces excellent glide for the razor and you do not even feel the blade contact as the razor glides so easily. the slickness is excellent and the residual slickness that is provided is truly wonderful as you can touch up without relathering a small area. The lather that you produce from a brush load is so voluminous that you get more lather than you need. It does like a bit of water as it is similar to the B & M soaps in this regard. I love this soap and highly recommend it, I will definitely have to get more of this artisans soaps as they perform extremely well.
